LinkedIn 101: Why LinkedIn

With 300 million users (100 + + million in the United States), is LinkedIn addition of two new users per second during the last years. Whether you are reading because you are looking for work or just to maximize ways to use the website, you are tips, tools and tricks that work for the power of LinkedIn to find and share.

You may rightly ask, "Why?" I talked to LinkedIn since 2007 and I'm still asking this question. So let's talk about the "why" to speak. There are three clear reasons.

The growth and maintenance of the network

LinkedIn can help you grow and maintain your professional network and is a fantastic tool for this purpose. This is a useful tool to stay in contact with colleagues or even friends so. Suppose you want to contact someone.

It can be a sales perspective, or it may be a personal chef for a position that you are interested. LinkedIn gives you another tool in which you can learn about the person, and you know that he or she know. Thus, LinkedIn provides information.

So let's take a look at the math on this:

Information is power

LinkedIn = Information

Conclusion:

By the transitive property LinkedIn gives you power.

How to use this power for you and your goals.

Establish and monitor your professional brand

1997 by Tom Peters wrote his seminal article Fast Company has named Mark, is personal branding the spirit in the bottle. Most people with a certain function have a common denominator of skills and abilities. So no matter your position as exceptional?

This is not the time for modesty. If we are all one brand, then we must be separated from all. What makes us different - or if you prefer, it is our unique value proposition?

LinkedIn Links to this because, as one of the most popular in the world, when someone does a search for Web Sites, the results can easily exceed LinkedIn those of most other sites. So, if you look, you will find on LinkedIn - and if they can not, some recruiters who refuse for this reason alone it is really a discussion I witnessed among recruiters take place ..

LinkedIn is a great big sign. It all depends on what you put into it, then you want to do it right. With a profile picture with a smile, get recommendations and add your skills. This is your billboard.

LinkedIn is the recruitment process owner

During its second quarter report showed that LinkedIn in the quarter, 58% of all revenue from products and services for talent acquisition. And last year, Forbes reported that 97% of recruiters use LinkedIn as part of their overall recruitment process. Namely: LinkedIn spends a lot of time and money involved with the needs of recruiters.

If you are looking for a job - in this case, LinkedIn just is not an option and not for almost half a decade - making sure that what recruiters are fairly presented, what your resume looks like, if want to be surprised.

For readers that are currently used, Forbes reported this year that the chances are that you are not satisfied. Candidates and recruiters who are already working. How to use LinkedIn to increase the likelihood that someone will ask if you could be someone who is interested in a position to know.

At the end

There are three reasons why LinkedIn is useful for you: providing information, is a billboard, to show your unique value proposition, and recruiters are looking for there.
